FESTIVAL OF SANTA CRUZ, including religious procession, rodeo, music, traditional food and dancing.
15 FESTIVITIES ALAJUELITA, honoring the Black Christ of Esquipulas, patron saint of Alajuelita with cart parade, procession to the Cross of Alajuelita and more.
February
First week of February
EXHIBITION LIVESTOCK FAIR in San Isidro del General, are parties to industrial and agricultural fairs, exhibitions, bulls and more. Cattle
Last week of February
Carnivals of Puntarenas. A full week of fun in the sun.
FESTIVAL DIABLITOS, one of the few indigenous festivals, held in Boruca Indian Reservation near Curré. (The date varies)

DAY OF BOYERO. Held in San Antonio de Escazú the second Sunday in March. The colorful parade of carts and blessing of animals and crops are lost. Bring your camera.

April 11 Juan Santamaria Day, in honor of the national hero died in 1856 at the Battle of Rivas against William Walker.
